Dashboard warning lights: Red, yellow, or orange warning lights popping up means your ride needs service. A warning light can signal the need for an oil change, emissions test, brake service, etc.

Burning smells: A burning smell usually signals that something is overheating due to a lack of fluid or general wear. For example, a burning smell coming from the engine means an oil change is needed, or there is a leak. Regardless of where the smell comes from, it is hazardous to drive. Let your car cool down and have it serviced immediately.

Electric issues: Are your headlights dimming? Do the interior lights flicker when you try to start your car? These are electrical issues that often signal a dead battery. You can jump-start it for a temporary fix; however, it is likely time to replace it. Remember, batteries last between three and five years.

Squealing and grinding noises: If you hear squealing or grinding sounds coming from your brakes, when you accelerate, etc., your car should be looked at immediately. These sounds mean one or more parts are worn.

Car pulls to one side of the road: Have you noticed that your car isn't gripping the road as well as it used to and favors one side of the road? Your tires are either balding and need to be replaced, or there is an alignment issue you should have addressed ASAP.
